Writer's Madness
Once again I’m caught
in the jagged condemnation
between success and failure
once again trapped
in the purgatory of the ordinary
seeking release
through a unique slant
meriting praise
from my contemporaries
sweet salvation softening
the debilitating mockery
of the pesky inner critic
I've been away on vacation for about a week and was excited to try my hand at the prompt and instead found my mind unwilling to play, offering nothing but criticism for my troubles. Just as I was about to give in to defeat, this poem shot out. Written for Vice/Versa #11 @ Poets United</a>
