Encouraging Stars
She had known
at the beginning
it wasn't going
to be easy
but as she
didn't know why
she embraced
the challenge.
She vacillated
many times
as circumstances
dared her return
but something kept pressing.
Exorbitant was the price
but so was the prize.
Anything of value
isn't going to come easily
and it certainly won't be free.
In a dreamy darkness
she entered a path
and realized if she
hadn't embraced
that midnight sky
she would have missed
the blaze of stars
encouraging her
to continue until
she found her heart
admonishing to keep walking
until she could see
the new sun rise.
