The Peace Underneath
I'm tempted to misery
generalized malaise
I have no tribulations, and
the mind
I'm discovering
desires troubles
something to chew on
it's what it does
ego arises
through identification
ball of confusion
tidal wave of complaints
there are conundrums
needing solutions
therefore I am
ego
However, if and when
the problems are solved
ego shrinks
feels empty
like a deflated ghost
and if I can remember
to quit identifying
with ego
I become
the peace underneath
I am
