A restless sense of unease
imagines harm and I wonder
what it is I imagine
Is the pain a memory
or a reflex?
Is it something to encourage
or learn from?
Or is it something to aid and abet
in the forgetfulness
that underlies forgiveness
even if it isn't conscious?
